U14/U16 Players - scroll down for details.

Player Equipment:  Each player will be provided with a game jersey, game socks, soccer shorts, and a practice shirt.  Players are required to provide their own soccer cleats, shin guards and soccer ball.  Shin guards must be worn at all practices and games.  Ball sizes are #3 for U5, U6 & U8,  #4 for U10 & U12 and #5 for U14.

Practices: Your coach will select your practice times.  Request for certain practice days can be noted on your registration but there is no guarantee they will be honored.  We strongly recommend that all players attempt to attend all practices but every player is provided the opportunity to play at least 50 % of every game whether they attend practices or not.  Practice time slots will be 6pm, 7pm, or 8pm.  All games will be played at the Wesley Chapel District Park.

Teams:   Teams will not be put together until after player evaluations are complete the middle of October.   All players will be contacted by their coaches by October 23rd.   At that point the coach will inform you of your pratcie night and time.

Volunteer:  The WCAA rec soccer program is run completely by volunteers with the exception of the referees.  In order to keep registration costs as low as possible, it is necessary for us to enlist the help of parent volunteers to help with concessions and cleanup.  Your coach or team parent will provide you with a schedule for help with some of these duties.  Usually this requires no more than 30 – 60 minutes of your time. Teams that do not provide volunteers during their allocated time slots may face game forfeiture.

Coaching: We are always in need of coaches. We are planning on a couple of coaching clinics to be run by the Director of Coaching for our Competitive Soccer Club, Bryn Lloyd.   These clinics will show you what it takes to coach a team and run a practice.   There will be no obligation or cost to anyone interested in checking it out.   We are planning these clinics in late August and September.   Be sure to check back on our web site, www.wesleychapelsoccer.com, then click on the Rec Soccer page for more info.

U14/U16 Boys & Girls – we are currently looking for coaches to run Tarsa teams in these age brackets.   Tarsa,  Tampa Area Recreational Scheduling Association, is a scheduling organization for 150 teams and 16 local clubs.   It is difficult to sustain enough players to run a decent internal rec program at these age brackets.  All of the clubs in the area have this same problem.  TARSA handles the scheduling for these teams.   The season starts a month earlier and runs 12-14 games, complete with the American Club rec tournament.   Half of the games are home at the WCDP and the others are away.  We have had numerous teams in TARSA for the last three years, both boys and girls.

Cost for Tarsa is $175 per player as it requires home & away uniforms as well as higher referee fees.

U-5 DIVISION INFO

WCAA Soccer U5 format will be the same as last year.   The division is Coed, and there will be 6 players on every team.   We plan on having three divisions of 8 teams each.

The U5 division does not have practice during the week.   Instead they practice for the first twenty minutes of their scheduled game time and then when both coaches are ready the game begins.   We will use the same 3v3 format which allows every play to have more “touches on the ball”.  All players play at least 50% of the time.

We are always in need of coaches, especially in this division.  With just 6 players per team, this is the ideal division for anyone to check out what it would be like to be your child’s coach.

We always need coaches, please consider it.   Without coaches we cannot run this league.  Please sign-up online when you register your son or daughter.  Thank you.
